A tragic incident unfolded at Gandbal, Batwara area of the city on Tuesday, after a boat ferrying schoolchildren and locals sank in the River Jhelum, leaving at least six dead and dozens others missing.

Amid tears and sobs, thousands of people offered funeral prayers of five individuals, who drowned to death after a boat capsized in Srinagar’s Gandabal area on Tuesday morning.
