New Delhi- The BJP today took exception to reports suggesting that the government was having talks with separatist forces like Hurriyat Conference in Jammu and Kashmir on the formula sought to be evolved by former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf and urged the Government of India to react to such reports.
BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said according to reports India was discussing with Hurriyat Conference the four-point formula evolved by General Musharraf.
The reports were indicating that the government would have accepted these solutions but for the November 26 attacks on Mumbai. If these reports are 'correct and true', than it is the duty of the government to inform the people about it.
They should inform Parliament the winter session of which is commencing tomorrow, he demanded. The highlights of the former President's formulae as explained by him during the course of an interview were: Identification of seven Jamu & Kashmir regions and demilitarise and change their status.
The Line of Control (LOC) dividing the two Kashmirs should be made 'irrelevant'. The region could have no independence but would have to settle 'something between autonomy and independence' jointly guaranteed by India and Pakistan.
