In a statement to Kashmir Observer the KAC spokesman said that the rally will be organized at Lafayette Park outside the White House.
“The rally will be organized on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 between 12.00 p.m. to 3.00 PM,” the statement added.
The main aim of the rally is that we want to highlight that Kashmir is recognized as a dispute by the United Nations whose status is yet to be determined by its people, the spokesman added.
“The territory has already been termed as the most dangerous place on earth by the Former US President, Bill Clinton,” the spokesman added, saying that the Valley is the largest military concentration anywhere in the world.
“The rally is being organized as the United States paved the way for freedom around the world and the United States can help the people of Kashmir achieve peace, freedom and self-determination,” the spokesman added.
“We urge President Obama to listen to Candidate Obama who has already committed on September 25, 2008 by announcing to continue support for ongoing Indian Pakistani efforts to resolve Kashmir problem in order to address the political roots of the arms race between India and Pakistan,” the statement added.
