Srinagar, Nov 27, KONS- Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah has greeted the people on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha, describing the day a great occasion of sharing happy moments with the people especially the poor and needy.
“This is also the holy occasion of imbibing the spirit of sincerity and truthfulness in our hearts and minds”, he added.
In his Eid message, Mr. Omar said that this day reminds us of the great sacrifice by the Prophets of Islam Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and his beloved son Hazrat Ismail (AS) to denote loyalty, allegiance and faith in Almighty Allah and sincerely obey His commandment. “Both came out victorious in the test and received Almighty’s blessings and praises for the sincerity of thought and action”, he said adding that the message we derive out of this is that Allah only sees the sincerity and truthfulness that are behind the deeds and actions we do.
Mr. Omar while felicitating the people, also reminded them of the State’s rich tradition of celebrating holy occasions in amity, brotherhood and love, sharing the joy and happiness with each other. “This of course adds to the fervor, gaiety and piety of the holy days”, he added.
Mr. Omar also called for remembering the poor sections of the society on the occasion of Eid and making them integral part of the celebrations and happy moments.
The Chief Minister prayed for the peace, prosperity and progress of the State and the country, and well being of the people. “Let this holy day be harbinger of lasting peace and prosperity”, he wished.
