Delegation calls on PM, demands electronic PRCs for citizens
SRINAGAR: The Kashmir society chairman Khwaja Farooq Renzu appreciated media, important forums of trade & commerce, tour and travels of J&K State, hoteliers and different heads of Hoteliers Association for providing full support to civil society in its demand for maintaining permanent air tariff from Srinagar to Delhi at Rs 3500 and Srinagar to Jammu as Rs 2000 only on basis of prescribed quota in each air lines for state subjects of J&K.
According to a statement he further said that all such travelers should be provided electronic state subject cards to prove their identities while booking their defined quota Air tickets
Today a delegation of Kashmir Society was deputed to Delhi which called on Advisor to Prime Minister T.K.A Nair and brought in his notice the issue that in respect to rush of tourists during current peak season. Airlines operating in J&K are enhancing the rates beyond its normal tariff and proportions, causing heavy loses to all citizens.
Khwaja Fayaz Ahmad Bhat while representing the delegation had one hour meeting with political advisor to Prime Minister today at 11 AM, apart brought from other issues the Air Tariff issue in his notice apart with other issues Mr. Nair assured that he will bring matter in the notice of concerned authorities for mitigating the grievances.
The chairman Kashmir Society appreciated the delegation, Khwaja Renzu Shah also personally contacted on phone Chairman Airport Authority Mr Alok Sinah and requested him to play his role for convening the meeting of all concerned Airlines to address the sensitive problems which the citizens of J&K State are facing, Mr Sinah referred Director General civil Aviation Mr Prahabat Kumar who has competence to intervene in the matter .The delegation is being deputed to meet Director General Civil Aviation also very soon.
Two days before a mega conference of Kashmir Society of all prominent personalities was held at Srinagar of J&K . In which apart from other issues this vital issue was discussed as thousands of students from J&K state are studying in different states of country and their families frequently visit them .Similarly Traders also suffer because of tourist rush on account of Air Tariff. It was suggested that 50% quota should be permanently fixed @ 2000 & 3500 from Srinagar to Jammu and Delhi respectively on permanent basis to the Electronic state subject card holders of J&K State. It was suggested that for rest of the 50% Airlines should be kept as fluctuating for tourists as per their needs & requirements, it is hoped that concerned authorities will play their vital role to mitigation grievances.
